The poetry of Percy Bysshe Shelley serves as one of the inspirations behind the brand’s creative vision — an exploration of emotion, atmosphere, and the beauty found beyond the ordinary. Its collections are defined by a restrained yet evocative palette of black, grey, and deep earthy sand tones. Refined details, subtle irregularities, and meticulous craftsmanship create garments with a quiet, almost artistic presence. Each pair is handmade by skilled artisans in Andalusia, Spain, drawing upon generations of traditional shoemaking knowledge. Depending on the model, time-honoured techniques such as Goodyear welted construction are employed. The selection of leather is equally considered. Vegetable-tanned leather forms the foundation of the collection, complemented by horse leather and kangaroo leather, each chosen for its individual character and natural qualities. As the shoes are worn, the leather gradually responds to the wearer. Colors deepen, surfaces develop a natural sheen, and a unique patina emerges — making each pair increasingly personal over time. The essence of EVARIST BERTRAN lies in this balance between heritage and individuality.
